Mihraplı Abdulkadir Can Anadolu İmam Hatip Lisesi ve Ortaokulu was founded in 2012 in the Bursa city centre. We have 1070 middle school students and 760 high school students. The total staff of the school totals out to 98 people among whom there are 1 director and 5 assistant directors. We have 97 Syrian immigrant students.
Their goal is to educate students in the fields of religion, science, arts and culture and also help them become ethical individuals who can understand their cultural heritage, analyze life, develop problem-solving skills, develop maturity.
In recent years the number of Syrian refugees has increased. Most refugee students experience adaptation problems to different educational systems. The biggest reason that affects their adaptation and achievements in school are language barriers. This school intends to make attempts to tackle this matter. They regard STEMS Project as a step towards helping refugee students.
